Sound, light and vision for events that have to go right.
Sound and lighting hire, conference AV, festival stages, live streams and hybrid meetings, weddings, funerals and permanent installs — run by Mark, a sound engineer with 20 years in Far North Queensland. Cairns to Cape York, the Torres Strait and everywhere north of Townsville.
Concerts and live shows
Festival PA and stage lighting hire for Far North Queensland — line arrays, monitors, moving lights and LED walls sized to the crowd, from a 300-cap club to a rodeo arena or a stage in a paddock. We build to the rider, not around it, and we have done the Weipa Fishing Classic, the Cairns Italian Festival and Christmas carols in the wet.

Conference AV production at the Cairns Convention Centre, Pullman, Shangri-La and resort venues from Palm Cove to Port Douglas. Multi-camera vision, a vision switcher, clean programme audio and a reliable encoder — streamed to YouTube, Vimeo, Teams, Zoom or your own platform. Remote presenters join with two-way audio and video, so the people online feel like they're in the room, and the room can hear them.
Live stream a conference from Cairns to delegates interstate, run a hybrid board meeting with the CEO in Brisbane, or broadcast a funeral to family who cannot travel. AGMs, town halls, product launches and church services — recorded and delivered to you afterwards.

Questions people ask before they book
Who should I call for sound and lighting hire in Cairns?
Call Mark at Cairns AV Hire on 0407 161 899. He is a sound engineer who has run audio, lighting and vision across Far North Queensland for 20 years, quotes every job himself and is usually the person behind the desk on the day.
Can you do sound for an event in Weipa, Cape York or the Torres Strait?
Yes. Remote and regional event production is a large part of what we do. We have delivered the Weipa Fishing Classic and Weipa Rodeo, First Nations community events across Cape York and the Gulf, and jobs throughout the Torres Strait. Gear is packed for corrugated roads and long days, and we bring our own power distribution and backups so a remote venue does not mean a compromised show.
Do you provide AV for conferences at the Cairns Convention Centre?
Yes. We regularly run conference AV production at the Cairns Convention Centre and at hotel and resort venues in Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas — lectern and panel audio, LED walls and projection, confidence monitors, vision switching and recording, with an operator in the room for every session.
How much does PA hire cost in Cairns?
It depends on the size of the audience, whether you need an operator, lighting or screens, and how far the venue is from Cairns. A single-speaker ceremony setup costs far less than a festival stage with a crew. Every quote from Mark is itemised so you can see exactly what each part costs and remove anything you do not need. Send the form below or call for a same-day estimate.
Can you supply a microphone and speakers for a wedding ceremony or a funeral, sometimes at short notice?
Yes. Wedding and funeral PA hire is something we do every week: a clear, discreet system so vows and eulogies are heard at the back, wireless microphones for the celebrant and readers, music playback, and someone calm to run it. Funerals are often booked with a day or two's notice; call Mark directly on 0407 161 899 and he will make it work.
Can you live stream our conference or run a hybrid meeting with remote presenters?
Yes. We bring cameras, a vision switcher, clean programme audio and an encoder, and stream to YouTube, Vimeo, Teams, Zoom or a private link. For hybrid meetings, remote presenters and attendees join with two-way audio and video so both sides can see and hear each other. We can also record everything and deliver the files afterwards, and we carry bonded 4G backup for venues with unreliable internet.
Do you install sound systems in school halls, boardrooms and venues, or only hire?
Both. We design, supply and install permanent audio, display, video conferencing and control systems for school halls and classrooms, corporate boardrooms, function venues, churches and clubs across Far North Queensland. Every install is handed over with simple one-touch control and staff training, and we service what we install.
Do you supply technicians to run the show, or is it dry hire?
Our core service is complete technical production with crew: experienced front-of-house engineers, lighting operators, vision switchers and staging hands who stay on site for the whole event. Dry hire of equipment is available for smaller jobs where it makes sense — ask, and Mark will tell you honestly which you need.
Can you meet a touring artist's technical rider?
Yes. We regularly build to local, national and international touring riders, supplying touring-grade line array PA, industry-standard digital consoles, professional wireless systems, stage monitoring and custom lighting plots.
How quickly can I get a quote?
Usually within one business day, and often the same day. Submit the form below with the venue, expected numbers and what you need, and Mark will come back to you personally. For short-notice bookings, call 0407 161 899.
